On Sunday, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly toured Sharjah Cricket Stadium, one of the IPL 2020s three locations, & admired the field for its fresh look and feel. Ganguly also said, as per a press report released that young talents are enthusiastically looking forward to competing on this hallowed cricket pitch where legends like Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar have written history.
The IPL 2020 switched from India to the UAE in three cities — Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recently, the Sharjah stadium had endured gigantic improvements, including the installation of new canopies, a revamped royal suite, commentary boxes, and VIP Hospitality boxes in strict adherence to COVID protocols.
IPL chairman Brijesh Patel, ex IPL chief Rajeev Shukla & IPL COO Hemang Amin also joined Ganguly to visit Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Other key authorities who were also there were BCCI Treasurer Arun Dhumal, BCCI Joint Secretary Jayesh George & Mubashir Usmani, GM of Emirates Cricket Board (ECB).
