Captain Dinesh Karthik of KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS said Wednesday
Captain Dinesh Karthik of KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS said Wednesday they will miss the crowded experience of the Eden Gardens with the IPL 2020 happening in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
At a campaign launch captioned 'Tu Fan Nahi Toofan Hai! 'Karthik said that the Kolkata people have a place reserved forever in their hearts.
“We will be missing our fans this year and the energy of Eden Gardens. We wanted to communicate directly with KKR fans and wanted to convey what they mean to us. We do understand that they can’t be here in person with us, but they will be in our heart,” IPL 2018 KKR Captain Dinesh Karthik.
“This year, it’s not so much for us. We’re playing for you all. We want to put a smile on their faces through our cricket. If we play the right brand of CRICKET, I’m sure we will make sure that you know we put a smile on every KKR fan out there,” Karthik finished off.
With West Bengal impacted by CYCLONE AMPHAN'S dual strike & the COVID-19, the skipper said, the IPL 2020 will be special for the people of the state. KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS will strive to interact online with their fans, Karthik later added that they will be playing for their fans.
Paceman Kuldeep Yadav & CEO Venky Mysore also mirrored the same sentiments and said the fans were KKR's strongest force.
The Kolkata franchise will initiate its campaign against the MUMBAI INDIANS at Abu Dhabi on September 23. KKR qualified to make the playoffs in the first season Karthik being their captain but ended fifth at IPL 2019.
